Temples, totem poles, frescoes and ancient sculptures: on her travels Susanne Rikus encounters sacred places and historic images – from Haida Gwaii and Florence to the ancient well temples of Sardinia. She does not reconstruct these cultures; she tells of her own encounter with them. Many of these works are Transferkunst, photographs carried in pigment onto acrylic glass; others are paintings.
Tempel, Totempfähle, Fresken und antike Skulpturen: Auf ihren Reisen begegnet Susanne Rikus heiligen Orten und historischen Bildern – von Haida Gwaii und Florenz bis zu den alten Brunnenheiligtümern Sardiniens. Sie rekonstruiert diese Kulturen nicht, sondern erzählt von ihrer eigenen Begegnung mit ihnen. Viele dieser Werke sind Transferkunst, Fotografien, in Pigment auf Acrylglas getragen; andere sind Malerei.
